I love New York City! There is so much to see and do 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Many people go to New York City to shop and take in the tourist attractions. Of course, these are wonderful things to do, but I love to find the unusual things to do in the city.
One of my favorite things to do is to go to Chinatown. I love to banter with the vendors to see if I can get the best price on goods! I enjoy looking for the unusual items that are available like Chinese coins and parasols. After shopping, it is fun to stop at one of the many Chinese bakeries and try some pastries. The street vendors often sell unusual items and are very friendly. I’ve gotten great deals on art work painted by very talented people. Who knows, perhaps some day they’ll be famous! The street performers are fun to watch. I love to listen to the musicians who play their instruments on the streets and in the subways of New York City. I wonder how they make enough money to survive on tips alone. My other favorite thing to do is to peruse the many bookstores located in the city. I love the selection and the fact that some of the bookstores sell rare and unusual books that you would never see in a chain bookstore. On a rainy or cold day, it is great fun to visit one of the many museums located in the city. My children and I love to visit the American Museum of Natural History. It’s right across from Central Park and has so much to see and do! After we’ve spent some time in the museum, the children love to run in Central Park. I’ve listed only a few of the reasons why I love New York City. There is no way I’d ever be able to list all the wonderful things there are to see and do!
