I was living in the Virgin Islands when I decided to take a trip to NYC. I don’t know how I was able to get such a good price on the airplane, but I did. I believe that my plane ticket was about $100 for a one way. I booked my hotel for the week and I left the island to land in LaGuardia airport on a June afternoon. I had a friend that was originally from the Bronx and he was in town at the time so he was going to be my tour guide.
As soon as I landed on New York territory I could tell this was going to be an awesome trip. I took a taxi to the hotel that I was staying at, which was not too far from Queens. I was staying at the Pan America, $100 a night per room hotel. I considered myself doing it BIG!!
I was already proud of myself because I paid for this trip myself and I worked hard to have money to spend. I always travel by myself but this was scary to be in NY on my own, but I had my friend. He came and met me at the hotel and we went out to eat to the best Chinese Restaurants in the USA!! We went out to some clubs and took a short trip to Long Island. I love the people, the train, and I got lost my first train ride!! But it was amazing and I can’t wait to go back soon.
