First Broadway Show

My favorite moment in NYC was while I was visiting with a service club from college. It was Spring Break 2001 and I was in my first year of college. One night, a bunch of us got tickets to see the Phantom of the Opera on Broadway! We decided to rent a limousine to take us from our youth hostel to the show. It was my first Broadway show and my first time in a limo! We got dressed up and the limo picked us up. We had it for an hour so the driver drove us around Times Square and the surrounding area before taking us to the show. There was a sunroof and we took turns looking out and taking pictures. It was so much fun! One girl even handed her camera to somebody on the sidewalk to take a picture of us while we were at a red light. That turned out to be a bad idea because the light turned green and our limo started going! We had to tell the driver to stop. Luckily the guy with the camera was super nice and ran after us to give the camera back. We arrived at the show and stepped out of the limo in our nice clothes. Everyone was looking at us. The Phantom of the Opera was beautiful and simply amazing! I couldn’t believe the details in the set, costumes, and music. I would love to see it again.
