College In The City

I remember it like it was yesterday. I was going to New York to start my first year of college, and I was incredibly nervous. Born and raised in a small town, I thought it was going to be hard to get used to the hectic big city life I had signed myself up for. I arrived shortly before Labor Day Weekend, as classes started the next week and I wanted time to prepare myself. My first weekend there was absolutely amazing. I met so many incredible people almost right off the bat that shared similar interests, and we hit it off immediately. There were so many things we could do in the city, from checking out the local clubs and the various parties they were holding for college students to sampling many of the great restaurants that surrounded our dormitories. Almost immediately I felt myself growing accustomed to the freedom and individuality that the city brings to your life. The city opened so many doors and gave us an inside look into a world that we had only seen before in movies and television shows. It was amazing. My first Labor Day Weekend in New York set the foundation for the rest of my college experience.
