Spamalot & Clay Aiken

On January 16th of 2008, my best friend and I went to NYC to see the Broadway play Spamalot. This was my first trip to New York and I was so excited. My friend had been to New York several times before, so she made the arrangements. I had always wanted to see a Broadway play — this was a dream come true for me that just couldn’t get any better. Or so I thought. What I didn’t know at the time was that my favorite singer, Clay Aiken, had recently joined the cast of Spamalot and was starring in the role of Sir Robin. My friend had surprised me with this news on our way to the Shubert Theatre where Spamalot was showing. The play was hilarious and I loved it. After the show, we waited outside of the Shubert and Clay Aiken came out to sign Playbills for his fans. It was amazing! After we were done, we went to Junior’s to eat. My friend informed me that I couldn’t visit New York and not eat at Junior’s. Their steak burgers with sautéed onions are delicious, but the real reason we went to Junior’s was to enjoy their world famous cheesecake. Now I see why it’s world famous. I had a piece of the Chocolate Mousse cheesecake and it was without a doubt the best cheesecake I’ve ever had! I’ve been to New York several times since that trip, but that trip will always be my favorite!
