A few friends and I decided to spend last Halloween in the city. We live very close by, only a 20 minute train ride, and NYC is the place to party on Halloween. One of the things we like to do is ride the subway dressed as vampires. It freaks people out and we all have a ball doing it. Last year was the best. We were dressed to the hilt. I had the best Gothic dress I had ever seen. I found it in a thrift store (it had been a prop for some play house) and it was a black Victorian mourning dress with a veil and all. People on the train were loving our costumes. My two friends I went with were twin brothers, Rick and Eric, and they were dressed as good and evil vampires: one all in black the other all in white…both very creepy.
On the subway we wandered around and messed with people and everyone was having a great time. It was a riot. When we were about to get off the subway we ran in to another group of vampires. We didn’t know them but being theatrical types we got into a vampire war on the train, nothing really bad mind you but play battling. We had an audience. It was so funny! They followed us out of the subway up on to the street and by the time we got to the club we were headed to we had about 20 people with us. It was so much fun. People in NYC are crazy and like to have a good time on Halloween, and we just played right in to it and it was a Vampire Ball.
