The last Halloween that was memorable for me was a few years back. I was invited to a television taping for their costume party special, and went with a bunch of my friends with plans to check out the parade in the village afterward. I dressed as Tracy Turnblad from Hairspray, and even had a can of hairspray from the premiere that I posed for pictures in. Everyone I passed by loved my costume and got it immediately, which was pretty awesome. The best part was, after taking only about an hour to put it together last minute, I was one of the winners for the televised best costume contest – the other winner was my best friend at the time. We won ipods! That was a pretty cool memory for me. After that we went to McDonald’s to eat, and it was pure comedy.
Tracy Turnblad, a couple of zombies, a dominatrix nun and a pilot from the Snakes on a Plane movie chowing down on big macs and things. We looked incredible, but oddly enough there weren’t as many people in the streets or in the restaurant dressed in halloween costumes so we all got our fair share of looks, especially being such a large group. We didn’t get too deep into the village, but saw plenty of Britney Spears costumes as that was the year of her awful VMA performance, and I saw a group of guys dressed like the gang from A Clockwork Orange which was one of my favorite group costumes of the night. All in all, I had a blast, and I doubt I’ll have another halloween to top that.
