One of the most fond and best experiences I have ever had was when I went to New York in the summer of 2009 with my drama class. Coming from a small town in Mid Western Iowa, I knew that going to New York would be a fun and exciting experience, but I did not realize how much fun I would ultimately end up having. When I arrived at Laguardia Airport, the sites, sounds and even the smells brought me to another level of consciousness. I felt more alive and energetic than I have ever felt up until that point, and I knew that there would be great things in store.
Once we checked into our hotel, which was quite modest to say the least, we were off to see the sites. We visited monumental theatres, historic landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty and Ground Zero, and the always electrifying and unforgettable Times Square. I was also fortunate enough to catch a play or two during my time in New York in that unforgettable summer of 2009. It was a shame that I could only visit for a few weeks, but they were definitely two of the best weeks of my life.
